Mom’s Llama…

November 26th, 2007 · No Comments

…the cardigan by Veronik Avery. Not the critters. And amazingly enough I’m THE ONLY ONE on Ravelry that’s working on it. I’m about a third or more through the back after my second night of working on it (for me, that’s pretty fast).
The broken rib pattern is a bit boring, but I’m looking [...]

Curtis’ Mitt in Progress

November 20th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Here it is! I’ve actually done a few rounds past the waste yarn for the thumb hole (so I’ve done more than is shown).
The current version of the pattern is as follows:
Cast on 42 stitches (I used a cable cast-on)
R1: (k1, p2, k2, p2, k1, p2)* repeat til end
R2: same

More plants! More! More!

November 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Dave and I did another jaunt to Theodore Payne yesterday. We came home with more Heuchara, various sages, sagebrushes, and more. Hopefully we’ll get them in the ground today.

I’ve used a stitch pattern I saw for a sweater in The Natural Knitter for the cuff and have modified it for the ‘body’ of the mitten. I also want to make a similar pair for [...]

Fetching, very Fetching

November 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Sometimes I just need to pick a small project I can finish quickly. Instant gratification is not the only goal or component, however. It needs to be something useful, interesting to knit, and a good use of stash.
Fetching from the Summer 06 Knitty fits on all three accounts.
I do need to make some [...]

November Update

November 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Wow, an update. I’ve not fallen off the face of the earth.
My training has gone all to hell, between being sick on & off, the recent fires, etc.
Malibu: survived, first time I’ve not PR’d in a race I’d done before. Could’ve been worse though.
La Jolla: what a neat course. Too [...]

Lush Greenjeans, Bella Rosa

November 11th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Hey! Progress on my Lush Greenjeans! I finally got my KnitPicks dpns so I’ve worked a little more on the sleeve.
But….bigger news….I got my Rose! She’s lovely and mesmerizing. Both John and Marsha of Solvang’s Village Spinning & Weaving Shop were incredibly helpful. I’m obviously still doing a lot [...]
