February Goals

January 31st, 2008 · No Comments

January ripped past me it seems. It’s been a rough month for me mentally and physically, so I’m pleased I got done as much as I did knitting and spinning-wise in January.
That said, I want to be more concrete about February.
To finish: Dave’s Irish Moss Scarf, Eyelet Cardi
To make a significant amount of [...]

Rainy rainy days….

January 28th, 2008 · No Comments

While I was at Twist last week it was pouring rain. An older couple came into the store — they’d noticed the store from the road, and the husband graciously came with his wife to check it out.
They were, if I remember correctly, from Minnesota. Visiting California for our lovely winter sunshine.
I felt [...]

Starting anew

January 23rd, 2008 · Comments Off

Well, 2007 had its high points (finishing Barb’s Race, a few PRs earlier in the season) and its low points (being sick most of the fall, having some bad races at the end of the season).
I’ve rearranged some stuff on the sidebar and will be updating planned races etc for 2008.

Plying too much = sore ankle

January 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

Yesterday I plied the Crosspatch and all the Tunis roving I’d spun. Ouch. The Crosspatch came out much nicer I think; but I’ve decided the Tunis would work admirably as a background color for a hooked rug, if nothing else. After nearly getting my arm stuck in the yarn I was wrapping around it I’ve [...]

Like I need a hole in my head….

January 20th, 2008 · Comments Off

Some friends and I went to the Pasadena Bead Show Friday. I bought a few beads, chains and buttons, as can be expected — but also some silk and wool roving from Nancy (the pack I bought is actually more red & black with all sorts of silk nubs — it’s fun to spin, not [...]
