April and May Goals etc

April 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Gotta love Ravelry. Someone ‘favorited’ my felted cat bed. Given I have no picture of the knitted and felted item in question…..I’m assuming they find my cats adorable.

Goals
I feel like I could just re-post the March April goals, including the lack of any knitting progress.
What I did manage to do: finish the felted [...]

Darth Rigel

April 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Rigel is an English Cocker Spaniel. He is small, about 30#, and short. He is sweet and loving.

He has, however, been seduced by the Dark Side yet once again. Notice the evil glowing green color of his eyes.

Dave bought a baker’s dozen of bagels Sunday morning. I had one and a [...]

The cats don’t care….

April 9th, 2008 · No Comments

….that indeedy the Tunis wool DIDN’T felt that well, that in trying to make it felt I felted the hell out of the rest of the bed, and that is therefore really only one or two cats’ worth of bed, not three: after staring at it suspiciously for awhile they all three tried to [...]

Tunis Sheep

April 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Whenever I wonder if people read my blog, I find out they do!
Regarding Tunis sheep: I don’t blame the entire breed for my bad experience — I do think it was the particular roving I had (purchased off of eBay*). I would certainly try Tunis wool again.
*Like any brand new spinner, especially one [...]

The cat bed….

April 7th, 2008 · 4 Comments

….is (hopefully) felting in the washing machine as I type this.
I used the Tunis sheep wool I’d spun (hated that wool, it was sticky and I think old and it was VERY DIFFICULT to spin), some of the brown Corriedale, various commercially spun wool odds and ends, and a little of the Icelandic handspun left [...]

More plants! More! More!

November 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Dave and I did another jaunt to Theodore Payne yesterday. We came home with more Heuchara, various sages, sagebrushes, and more. Hopefully we’ll get them in the ground today.
The native plant garden tour is April 12/13 of next year. I’m hoping (more hope!) that we’ll be able to participate in 2009.
Rigel had [...]

Home

August 30th, 2005 · No Comments

We got back home yesterday. Waiting for us was Meggie, Obi and Cali; we had to later pick up Rigel from the kennel and Cecie from the vet hospital (just boarding).
And tons of mail, including Rowan 38, some books from Amazon and eBay, my new copy of Charles de Lint’s Moonheart from Subterranean Press (so [...]

Texas to Cozumel

August 12th, 2005 · 2 Comments

We leave Sunday on vacation and of course Mom’s Angora isn’t done. The good news is I’m almost finished with the back and hope to have it done before we leave Sunday so I can just bring a bunch of yarn and start the front. Angora/wool knitting in Texas in the summer anyone???
We’ll [...]
