From Princess of Pink (who I found through Ravelry) and Casaubon’s Book (the original source of the following challenge) I found the Independence Days Challenge. You’re supposed to do the following as you are able (as often as possible, daily if possible)
Plant something

I finished the Drifting Pleats scarf. I started a new sweater (Mr Greenjeans again, this time in Malabrigo).
I did not finish Dave’s Irish Moss scarf, I did not work on the Eyelet Cardi. I did not work on Herbstlied. I’m in the process of frogging the current rendition of the boucle scarf. [...]

I got a drumcarder, a Strauch Petite with brush attachment, for my birthday, from Dave, my mom & dad, and my in-laws Rosemary and Curtis! (Yes, it was a requested birthday present, so it wasn’t a surprise, but I’m very thrilled nonetheless.)
It’s a massive, sturdy piece of equipment once assembled. I put it [...]

Hmm….not much on the knitting front. I’ve started the second ball of Malabrigo silky merino for the Pleated Scarf. It’s neat scarf, easy once you understand what’s going on, and it looks pretty nifty. The yarn is luscious. The sweaters have been on the back burner.

*Like any brand new spinner, especially one [...]

….is (hopefully) felting in the washing machine as I type this.
I used the Tunis sheep wool I’d spun (hated that wool, it was sticky and I think old and it was VERY DIFFICULT to spin), some of the brown Corriedale, various commercially spun wool odds and ends, and a little of the Icelandic handspun left [...]

While I was at Twist last week it was pouring rain. An older couple came into the store — they’d noticed the store from the road, and the husband graciously came with his wife to check it out.
They were, if I remember correctly, from Minnesota. Visiting California for our lovely winter sunshine.
I felt [...]

Yesterday I plied the Crosspatch and all the Tunis roving I’d spun. Ouch. The Crosspatch came out much nicer I think; but I’ve decided the Tunis would work admirably as a background color for a hooked rug, if nothing else. After nearly getting my arm stuck in the yarn I was wrapping around it I’ve [...]
